On September 3rd, 2025, the LIAISE community came together in Berlin for the first WG1 meeting after the summer break. Bringing together researchers, industry experts, and project partners from across Europe, the event set the stage for collaboration, innovation, and progress in industrial symbiosis.
Inspiring presentations driving innovation
The day featured cutting-edge presentations that highlighted how industrial symbiosis can transform industries :
- SUM4Re : Thanks to OLAR Solutions, we joined the LIAISE WG1 meeting in Berlin, connecting with projects that share our ambition for a circular economy. Inspiring discussions and valuable new collaborations !
- RISERS : Christian Grunewald (DIN Institute) introduced approaches to standardizing industrial symbiosis, helping industries adopt best practices more efficiently.
Collaborative workshop on ICT tools
A hands-on workshop led by James Woodcock focused on shaping deliverable D1.2, defining the ICT tools and methodologies that will support industrial symbiosis practices across sectors. Participants shared ideas, discussed challenges, and contributed to a practical roadmap for upcoming initiatives.
Strengthening the community
Beyond the sessions, the meeting fostered networking, strengthened relationships across the LIAISE community, and reinforced the shared commitment to sustainable and circular industrial practices.
