VTT has recently focused on developing an open format for machine-readable Digital Passports for products and materials. These formats are compatible with current standards and practices while also being integrable with SUM4Re digital platforms and able to use data from the project pilots.
Two proposed formats are available on the project’s GitLab: one based on the industry specification Material Identity, and the other on the ISO 59040 Product Circularity Data Sheet (a standard format for describing a product’s circularity, e.g., recyclability, reuse, or recycled content).
The project also includes a Wiki containing the definitions used during development.
