The Horizon Europe project INBUILT aims to bring a shift in the European construction industry by integrating circular economy and digitalisation. By using locally sourced materials and reusing components, INBUILT seeks to reduce waste and strengthen the resilience of the construction sector.

INBUILT is developing a set of sustainable building materials that either reuse and recycle existing resources or rely on low-carbon, bio-based alternatives. These include earth blocks made from local soil, straw-clay boards, bio-based insulation, recycled bricks and concrete, reclaimed wood panels, smart high-performance windows, and second-life solar panels. Together, these innovations aim to cut carbon emissions, reduce waste, and improve building energy performance, and they are being tested across four demonstration sites in France, Germany, and the UK to prove their practicality in different European climates.

INBUILT is looking to get stakeholders involved!

The INBUILT project launched two surveys to collect information on existing urban mining projects and identify key stakeholders in the field. Their goal is to map urban mining initiatives across Europe and foster collaboration between the project and stakeholders to advance urban mining practices.
Now is your chance to make a change! By participating in these surveys, you can contribute to a more sustainable future for the construction industry and help shape the next wave of innovation in resource efficiency.

Fill out the surveys below and help them create a greener, more circular future:
